After reviving his career with a productive season for the Atlanta Braves last year, designated hitter Marcell Ozuna is off to a torrid start in 2024 and remains a driving force in the middle of a powerful lineup.
Last April, there was reason to believe that Ozuna’s time with the Braves would be nearing an end. The embattled slugger recorded just three hits in the season’s first month and was batting .085 through 18 games.
The tide turned when Ozuna opened March with six home runs in the first 10 games of the month. That success lit the fuse on the biggest power surge of his career. His personal-best 40 home runs were the most by any full-time designated hitter in baseball last season, as were his 100 RBIs.
Unlike last season, Ozuna has started quickly in 2024.
