The Atlanta Braves opened the Winter Meetings by trading for Jarred Kelenic, a talented young hitter who could solve their left field need for years to come. That five-player swap was the highlight of the week for Alex Anthopoulos and the Braves, who were also the subject of more than a little rumor and speculation.
There are still more than a few questions yet to be answered for Atlanta, however.
Will Kelenic be able to tap into his considerable potential in a new environment? What will the Braves do with the other pieces of the trade after taking on $29 million dollars from Seattle? What does the Kelenic acquisition mean for Vaughn Grissom, the young infielder currently learning to play the outfield in winter ball down in Puerto Rico? As the winter wears on, where will the Braves find a starting a pitcher to help strengthen their rotation? Who are the top names? And was there ever anything to those Shohei Ohtani to Atlanta rumors?
Grant McAuley and Kris Willis of Battery Power will try to answer some of those and look back on the Winter Meetings for the Braves on this edition on BPTV. Be sure to like, share, subscribe and check out BatteryPower.com.
